Ministry Newsletter

From Lee Grady & The Mordecai Project / February 4, 2026

Dear Alex:

People often ask me what keeps me going when I face the challenges of an intense schedule, financial pressure and spiritual warfare. Besides the strength I receive from the Lord each day, I can tell you that the reports we receive from our overseas directors always encourage me.

How can I not be encouraged when I see the smiles on the faces of these two girls (below) from Nyiragongo, Congo? They are smiling because we provided for their school fees for another semester. They live in a country where girls are often pulled out of school because the culture says they don’t need an education. These girls are also excited to receive something as simple as packs of feminine hygiene supplies. We gave them these pads because girls often drop out of class because their families can’t afford them.

In January we provided hygiene supplies and other school supplies for a large group of girl students in Nyiragongo—a city that has been terrorized in recent days by rebel activity. Please pray that these girls can grow in Christ as they are discipled by our director, Mwema.

Below you can see our success in Pakistan! The local believers in the village are amazed at the goodness of God. The local women call this building a “palace.” We were able to build it for a reasonable price, but it is nicer than most buildings in the town. From this facility, which we plan to call the “Jehovah Jireh Center,” women will be protected, discipled and trained in many skills. Someone recently sent us the funds for dozens of sewing machines for this center. And recently a company in the U.S. has shown interest in providing laptops so that we can offer computer training there!

As you can see below, there were a lot of smiles in Zanzibar, Tanzania, where The Mordecai Project is building a rehabilitation center for women coming out of prostitution. A large group of women are being discipled there by our director, Lena. Soon they will have their own place for counseling, Bible study and pastoral care. We need another $10,000 to complete the construction and for furnishings. You can donate here.

Just last week we were able to pay the school fees for a group of girls in Kagoma, Uganda (below), where we are building a school. I am thrilled that a church in Maryland has just sent us $10,000 to start construction for a school there. This will help children in a very needy village where no school exists. I will be traveling to Uganda this month ,and I will visit Kagoma as well as four other cities where we have projects. I need your prayers for that 20-day trip.

In January I went to Bethel Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to train their leaders and to speak on a Wednesday night. Many teens and young adults came to that service, and the atmosphere felt electric. It reminded me of the Jesus Movement days of the 1970s! I taught on the Holy Spirit and how He wants to empower us. After the message I opened the altars, and so many young people streamed to the front for prayer. Many of them were filled with the Holy Spirit. The next day, the youth pastor, Hayden, told me that he received texts from other students who said they were filled with the Spirit when they got home from church that evening. I love how the Lord is working so powerfully in the young generation today!

Last year when I preached at a men’s retreat in Falcon, North Carolina, a young man named Zach (in the photo below) came to the altar because he had a deep father wound. He had a profound encounter with the Lord in that moment, and tears flowed as the Lord healed him from rejection. I did not speak with Zach at that time because there were many other men at the altar, and he didn’t say anything to me. But last month when I was speaking in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Zach came to my meeting and shared with me what happened.

Zach told me that the Lord healed his heart that night. God also restored his relationship with his father, who was very ill. His father actually passed away when I was on this recent trip, and I was able to pray with Zach. A beautiful friendship was born out of this, and Zach and I stay in close touch. Zach has rededicated his life to Jesus, he is very involved in his church and he is on the path of discipleship. He and my friend Karson plan to go with me on a mission trip this summer!

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We are trusting the Lord for “more than enough” (Exodus 36:5) to finish our projects. Please agree with us for overflowing provision. If you, your church or your business can partner with us to fund one of our projects, please contact me.
