Dear Friends of the Mordecai Project:

I trust you had a blessed Thanksgiving. We had 19 family members at our house for a few days last week, and it was very special to have Deborah’s dad with us after we lost her mom in September.

This has been an intense, fast-paced year—with mission trips to nine countries, trips to 10 U.S. states plus Puerto Rico, and three Bold Venture events. Yet the Lord has supplied the strength, the anointing and the funds every step of the way and we are incredibly thankful. I do not take for granted your love and support, and especially the prayers. Thank you for standing with us!

Just before Thanksgiving I returned from my trip to Iceland, where I led a men’s Bold Venture discipleship retreat with my friend Helgi Gudnason, pastor of Filadefia Church in the capital city of Reykjavik. Below you can see Helgi (far left) along with my international team of guys who came to help. Michael Coretti came from Canada and Alex Latis came from Romania (he also brought a disciple, Cristi, from Romania). Helgi, Mike and Alex shared powerful messages with the men.

Below you can see the men who attended the Bold Venture event in Iceland. It was held at a retreat center 2 hours east of Reykjavik. Iceland is a small country (only 350,000 people) and the Christian population is quite small. The Nordic culture has convinced men that they should bury their feelings and be tough. So you can imagine that the message we bring to Bold Venture was different for them.

We encouraged men to forgive their fathers, learn to express affection to their wives and children, and openly confess their sins to each other. And God moved! He opened closed hearts, and the men not only experienced deep healing but also were filled with the Holy Spirit. They also learned how to mentor others, and several guys were inspired to begin making disciples.

While I was in Reykjavik I also spoke to a young adult service at Filadelfia Church. It was great to see how God is moving in the younger generation in Iceland. Even though it is not easy being a Christian in this highly secularized country, young people are responding to Christ. And the worship team at the church is preparing to release their first recording. I was able to encourage these young people through prophetic ministry.

One of the men I met at the retreat was Stefan, who is standing next to me in the photo below with the rest of my team. Stefan works for a radio station that is blanketing Iceland with the gospel. We were able to do a live show about the men’s event and The Mordecai Project, and that program was aired all over the country. Thank you for praying for this trip. I am especially proud of Helgi Gudnason, who is growing in his leadership gifts. He is young but he is pastoring the largest Pentecostal church in Iceland. It is an honor to co-labor with him and his team.

This week we celebrated “Giving Tuesday,” as a way to encourage the support of charities around the world. I hope that you will consider helping us complete all of our Phase One projects. Below you can see all our ministry partners in India, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Guatemala, Peru, Colombia and El Salvador. We are trusting the Lord to supply all the funds we need to take the healing of Jesus to all the women and girls who are victims of abuse and violence in these communities. Your gifts, large or small, will help us fulfill the mandate to “heal the brokenhearted” (see Isaiah 61:1).

We are also excited that our shipment of Pakistani tote bags is on its way to my office in Georgia. We will be having an online sale in a few days. Each of these bags was sewn by hand by the women we are helping in the city of Faisalibad. The purses are selling for $50, and each is a reminder that women in Pakistan are suffering untold violence. All funds collected from the sale of the bags is going to help these abandoned women make a living wage. We hope you can help us. ** I was supposed to take one additional trip in December to Tanzania, but a few months ago I decided to postpone that trip because my mother’s health is declining. I don’t know what will happen but we are trusting the Lord to comfort her and uphold her. She had a fall last week but she was not injured. Please pray for my mother, Jean Grady.

** During the December break I will be working on a grant proposal to raise funds for our overseas projects. Please agree that God will open up a way to get $300,000 for the work in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
