Praise Reports from The Mordecai Project!

Dear Friends:

I’m sure you’ve heard about the outbreak of repentance and revival that happened on the campus of Asbury University in Kentucky last month. On Feb. 8, the day that the Asbury revival started, I was ministering to a group of 82 Slavic students at a Bible school in Jacksonville, Florida. In fact, on Feb. 7 about 20 of those students were filled with the Holy Spirit! Then we began hearing reports of the chapel service at Asbury that didn’t stop.

This confirmed to me, more than ever, that we are heading into an unprecedented season of revival! Below you can see some of the Slavic students in Jacksonville worshipping the Lord. Their passion for Jesus is contagious!

One of the best things about my time with the Slavic Missionary Bible School was having my assistant, Abdiel López, with me there. He taught one of my sessions on missions, and he connected so well with the students all week. They loved hearing the stories of the church in his native Cuba. And I know it inspired them to see someone from their generation who is sold out to Jesus.

Below you can see all 82 students from the class. I taught them for five days about discipleship, the Holy Spirit, women in ministry, leadership and missions. This is the best way I can use my time these days—investing in the next generation!

The next weekend I enjoyed preaching at Restoration Fellowship in Sarasota, Florida. Below you can see me with Kent and Kirsti Davis, the pastors of this church. I ministered to their leaders for a half-day about relational discipleship, and then I preached on Sunday morning and evening. Pastor Kent told me later that it felt was a significant time of refreshing for him and his congregation. I love seeing God’s people encouraged!

My young friend David Bakthakumar (below) traveled with me on the trip to Sarasota. David is the chaplain at South Florida Bible College in Deerfield Beach. He’s young but he’s a very anointed minister of the gospel. I started mentoring David when I met him at Christ for the Nations Institute several years ago. Now he is growing as a leader, and he will be speaking at the next Bold Venture men’s event. David grew up in India but he married an American girl, Blessing, and he is now influencing the younger generation for Jesus here.

Last weekend I went to Oklahoma City to preach at Reflection Church, which is pastored by my young friend Ben Crisp. I performed the wedding of Ben and his wife, Tiffany, back in 2017, then they moved to Oklahoma to launch this church. Two years ago they had a miscarriage, and it was a difficult time for them. When I was with them in November 2021, I prayed for them and spoke a prophetic word about restoration and growth. I also said that Tiffany’s arms would be full of God’s promised blessings. Now look at what the Lord has done! Four months ago Tiffany gave birth to little Rhema Joy! She is such a sweet baby and I got to hold her multiple times during my weekend there.

During the Sunday morning service at Reflection Church I also ministered to the young man in the photo below, Alex Sutterfield. I found out that when I was at his church in 2021, I spoke a prophetic word over him and said that he was a “champion.” That word came to pass, literally! The night before the Sunday service in February of this year, Alex won the state wrestling championship. He is literally a champion! But most of all he knows that God has called him to be a spiritual warrior, and to reach his generation for Jesus.

Our overseas work continues to expand. Thank you for your prayers and donations. Below you can see some of the women from Congo who are in our advanced tailoring classes. This is a six-month program that trains women in sewing skills so they can start businesses. The next graduation will be in a few weeks. We also have a larger beginners’ class graduating. The women in the photo are with our director, Pastor Udjasiri Wakahasha.

Below you can see the progress on our women’s empowerment center in Masindi, Uganda. This is one of the most ambitious projects we’ve taken on. The building will allow us to host literacy classes, vocational training and counseling for the women of the city. We also plan to do rehabilitation program to get women out of prostitution. I am so thankful for our partnership with Pastor Robert and Doreen Kaahwa. Please pray for the remaining $50,000 needed to finish the building complex.

We are helping a group of 38 high school girls stay in school in Moi’s Bridge, Kenya. Last month a donor contacted me and said she wanted to pay for half of the amount of the tuition, and then she offered to match donations for the remainder of the amount. We were able to raise the full $8,000 needed to pay school fees for all the girls—and they are now in class. By staying in school these girls will have a bright future, and they will be protected from sexual assault and genital mutilation. Thank you for helping us!
We are excited to announce that we have two Bold Venture discipleship events in 2023. The men’s retreat will be at The Springs Church in Jacksonville, Florida, Sept. 28-30 (see below). The women’s event will be at Bridgewood Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Oct. 12-14. We will be opening registration soon.

We are thrilled to announce that in February we were able to
