Ministry Newsletter

Prayer Requests from The Mordecai Project / August 25, 2017

Dear Friends of the Mordecai Project:

I know I sent a newsletter last week with a report from my recent trips. Please forgive me for sending another e-mail so soon after the last one. But I wanted to share this special news.

Most of you know I have been hosting my Bold Venture discipleship events for the past eight years. I do these retreats for both men and women. These three-day retreats are the most fulfilling events I do all year because they are so intensely relational. Lives are changed forever during those days, and relationships are formed that last a lifetime. It is impossible to describe what happens. All I can say is that God shows up and people are changed in His presence!

This fall I am hosting two men’s Bold Venture events on back-to-back weekends in October. You can see the poster below. Our Southeast region event will be at The Springs Church in Jacksonville, Florida, from Oct. 12-14. Then the Northeast region event will be at Summit Lake Camp in Emmitsburg, Maryland, October 19-21.

Last month a dear friend from Florida offered a $10,000 matching grant to help us cover the costs of the men’s events. The funds will be used partly for scholarships for young men who cannot afford to come otherwise. If we can raise $10,000 from donors, this donor will match that amount to give us our conference budget. If you can help us, you will be investing in the future by helping many young leaders grow spiritually.

At every Bold Venture men are set free from life-controlling habits and they get serious about their commitment to Christ. Many are filled with the Holy Spirit. They also connect with mentors and close friends, so that they can learn to be devoted disciples. I am watching many of these young men grow into powerful leaders.

Please pray with us about this opportunity. If you are a man, or you have men in your life who need to attend Bold Venture, you can register at boldventure.org. Please register soon, since we expect both events to fill up before October gets here. Please also pray about sending a special gift to help with our matching grant. As soon as we reach the $10,000 mark the additional $10,000 will be released to us. We are so grateful for the Lord’s provision.

Please also pray with us for these Bold Venture retreats. Thank you for believing in our work. Deborah and I love you very much!
